It is important to think about the aesthetic of your show as soon as possible. A lot of the production process cannot begin until the initial designs for set and costume are complete.
It is important to keep in close contact with your venue whilst designing the set for your show. If you are performing at the ADC Theatre, the production manager will meet with you to discuss your technical requirements and guide you in your designs.
Go and see another production in your space to give you an idea of how to make the most of the stage available. This will also give you a better idea of sightlines and levels from and audience member’s perspective.
